Greek Police discovers 1028 bullets at Albanian border

Greek police said they discovered two sacks filled with cartridges, near the border between Greece and Albania.

According to official Greek sources, 1.028 cartridges of 7.62 mm caliber used for Kalashnikov were found by Konica's border guard.

According to Greek police, the two sacks were hidden in an old building near Sarantaporo River.

Konica's mayor Andreas Papaspyrou said that Greek police should increase security measures in the region, because according to him, illegal activities are being repeated more and more often.

This area along the Albanian border has recently had an added activity of marijuana traffic. According to Greek sources, police allegations are that the ammunition found belongs to the groups that organize drug transportation. Only last month Greek police said they blocked in the northern areas, near the border with Albania, about one ton of marijuana entering from Albania./Oculus News
