Swedish Ambassador Johan Ndisi: Our businessmen want to invest in Albania, but seek Rule of Law

Sweden's Ambassador to Albania, Johan Ndisi, calls on Albania not to waste time and implement the reforms leading the country to the EU.

In an interview to News24, Ndisi stressed that although the reform process is difficult, are the Albanian citizens who benefit from this reform.

"I think that the process of joining the European Union is a process filled with reforms and very difficult reforms. We are already 28 countries in the EU and all these countries have gone through such processes. It's not easy, but it's important not to waste time in this process. We want to look at reform in justice to be implemented because it is important to Albanian citizens and is very important for investors who want to come to Albania. It is important for integration into the European Union, but mainly for Albanian citizens and investors because for an investor, the rule of law is vital."

Focusing on the foreign investments, Ambassador Ndisi emphasizes that geographically, Albania is a very interesting country for Sweden.

"The Swedish economy is a global economy and we are accustomed to investing in every corner of the world and to make trade around the world. I would like to see more trade between the two countries and more Swedish investors in Albania, but when speaking with Swedish business leaders, the main point they emphasize is the rule of law. For this reason, is necessary to move forward with Justice Reform because businesses see opportunities but fear the risk. So if you lower the risks, things will go faster here," said the Swedish ambassador./Oculus News
