The Macedonian Foreign Ministry (MFA) has called for a conversation the Ambassador of Albania in Skopje, Fatos Reka. The topic of conversation have been the statements by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Foreign Minister Bushati about Albanian platform.

Macedonian Foreign Ministry considers that Albania is interfering in the internal affairs of Macedonia and according to them, these are actions which affect the good relations between the two countries contributing to the extremist rhetoric.

"The statements of Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister about double-nationality and constitutional arrangements is a direct interference in the internal affairs of Macedonia. The labeling of Macedonians as "Slavic" is derogatory and discriminatory - said in a statement the Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Contacted by Alsat M, Albania's ambassador in Skopje, Fatos Reka under the  refused to explain what was discussed at the meeting. On the other hand, the Albanian Foreign Ministry stated that they remain in positions of Minister Bushati and Prime Minister Edi Rama.

"Albania's position on this matter is clear. We have nothing to add. Albania will remain in its constitutional position, " said the Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Albanian media reports.

The Albanian Foreign Minister Bushati days ago in an interview to Euroactiv network said that Albania does not intend to interfere in the internal affairs of Macedonia and Tirana has not prepared any political platform which will coordinate the actions of Albanian political parties in Macedonia. Bushati among other things stressed that Albania is the only country which has not disputed Macedonia's identity and territorial integrity.

Official Tirana and the Albanian government leaders have recently been the target of accusations and verbal attacks. After the disclosure of the joint statement of the Albanian parties in Macedonia from VMRO-DPMNE, President Gjorge Ivanov and protesters of the Initiative for Joint Macedonia, Albania is accused of imposing political platforms and interfering in the internal affairs of Macedonia. This is one of the reasons why most of the new Parliament is failing to get the mandate from President Ivanov./Oculus News
