The fall of fuels imports level in Albania is being replaced by the growth of crude oil production and processing.
Albanian Government gave two licenses to new oil refineries. Is expected a rise in oil level by SHELL.
The growth of production capacities is considered as the newest policy of the Ministry of Energy and Industry and the Albanian Government: "It has been a clear policy of the Ministry of Energy and Government to increase the crude oil processing capacities in the country which means that since the start-up of the Ballsh refinery, which has not only solved the social problems of the area but has done what needs to be done for the processing of crude oil in the country," said Dritan Spahiu, director of the Directorate of Policy and Development at MEI .The refurbishment of the Ballsh refinery, in addition to solving the acute social problems of employment in this area, has also provided the required product on the market.
"There is no reason why Albania today to import high-priced products when these products can be processed in Albania and get the value chain from this product. Meanwhile, what MEI has done is that has also licensed new refineries.
Today we are talking about two refineries licensed by the Council of Ministers and these will be produced more crude oil than what is produced until today by other companies./Oculus News
