TAP in progress in Albania and Greece, 30 km of pipes laid

 The construction of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), which provides to transport gas from Azerbaijan to Europe is making progress. According to TAP official data are laid about 30 kilometers of linear pipes at the Albanian territory, as well as in Greek one. 

The entire pipeline that will pass on these territories will be buried at a depth of one meter. 

The performance, according to TAP sources is within predictions made. This pipeline will be supplied from the 2 phase of thedevelopment of the Shah Deniz field and will go in the European markets. Albania needs of at an averaged of 5% of the amount that will be shipped in the first phase and is about 10 billion cubic meters.

Is predicted that 870 kilometers of pipes will be connected with the other pipeline TANAP at Turkish-Greek border .

In Greece, the length of the project is approximately 550 km, the longest section and the cost is estimated at about 2.3 billion euros, while in Albania it is estimated at about 1 billion euros, and the length is 215 kilometers. About 37 km pipeline will be under water, on the Adriatic Sea.

The Albanian part begins at Bilisht Center, Korca region, on the border with Greece and ends in the Adriatic Sea, 17 km northwest of Fier.
