Shkodra Prosecution ordered today the arrest of the Regional Director of Taxation, Hysen Hysaj, suspected of consuming elements of the offense of "abuse of office".
The detention order was implemented by the Local Police forces of Shkodra. Prosecution of Shkodra investigation shows that the citizen Hysaj unlawfully credited the value of the addet value Tax (VAT) amounting to over 10 million new leks to the commercial entity "H ..." ltd.On the basis of procedural actions, it turns out that the company "H ..." Ltd, the administrator M.H citizen, who is the son of the sister of Shkodra Regional Director of Taxation, had lost the right of the refound of the VAT.
Based on fiscal legislation, companies that import goods from abroad for the purpose of business, must pay customs before to get included in the scheme of VAT refunds. In this case, the "H ..." Ltd has not paid the customs charge on some purchases of 2012 and already has made a request for the reimbursement of the added value tax. Following the investigation, the Prosecutor of Shkodra has ordered the arrest of Hysen Hysaj, suspected of the criminal offense of "abuse of office".
