The driver and the passenger who was seriously injured Tuesday when a pickup truck was hit from behind by a truck at Route 23 North, have been identified, and are in a critical condition in hospital, Police said Wednesday.

Capt. Laurence Martin of Wayne Police Department said in a statement to local press that: "Both the driver and the passenger are in" serious condition, and have not been able to speak to Police in order to provide any information about what may have caused the accident," Martini said.

The passenger in the truck, identified as Christian M. Calle-Valdez, 29, from Orange County, was " in very, very, very serious condition"  said Wednesday Martin. But the driver, Adil Gega (the Albanian), 47, of Lincoln Park, was in somewhat better condition, but still serious, he added.

Both injured are being treated at Regional Health Center - St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson, New Jersey.
