The serial killer of prostitutes, Police reopens investigations, Albanian girls among the victims

Allegedly more than 7 women are killed by the serial killer Maurizio Minghella, killed between 1996 and 1998 in Torino, Italy. The victims were all prostitutes, among which many Albanians.

But is thought that are more than 7 victims, thus the investigations are reopened to fully discover the criminal histories of those years. In Italian Police archives are recorded the names of the prostitutes murdered, DNA, fingerprints, ropes and belts used by serial killer to kill the girls.


The First Murder
In 1978, Minghella was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of five women in Genoa. 18 years after he was released from prison and moved to Turin, he made other murders. According to Italian Police, he used the technique of strangulation with a wrap and after the kill he wrapped the victims the carpet.

The victims
Among the victims of the Italian serial killer are also many Albanian prostitutes. Among them are killed: Heroina Sulejmani at the age of 16, Atli Isaku, 22 years-old, Nadia Shehu was found dead on August 1, 1997, Floreta Islam killed in 1998. Other women killed were Ebe Romano, 35, Fatima 'H Dido, Tina Motoc and Cosima Guido.

Police investigation
The investigator Marco Martino decided to reopen the case on the suspicion that there are still other women killed by Maurizio Minghella, crimes that can not be detected. Doubts began after it was revealed the murder of an Albanian prostitute in 1998. It is about Floreta Islami, whose murder was discovered recently. She was strangled with a scarf and there were traces of the serial killer.
