Over 2,800 Vehicles Stranded in Greece-Bulgaria border due Farmers Strike and Truck Drivers Protest


 Due to the strike of Greek farmers and truck drivers protest, more than 2,800 vehicles remained stranded at the border crossing between Greece and Bulgaria.

Greek authorities announced about 1,300 trucks and other vehicles remained stranded on the Greek side of the border, while about 1,500 vehicles are located on Bulgarian territory.

Greek farmers, already several weeks on protest against the announced reform of the pension system, have blocked numerous roads and highways.

Farmers blocked the traffic at Promachonas border crossing .

Truck drivers reacted angrily and blocked completely  the border crossing.

Meanwhile, Bulgaria asked the European Union to react due to the blocking of Promachonas crossing for its transport companies because have suffered huge losses, Greek media reports.
