Kavaja Former Mayor Arrested after resulted Owner of Coastal Lands by Fabricated Documents

Kavaja former Major, Sinan Shala, is Arrested today by the order of the Prosecutor of Kavaja, suspected of the offenses of "abuse of power" and "falsification of documents" from the person who is obliged to issue, in the allocation of land in the coastal area of Villa-Bashtova. 

State Police executed the arrest order of Sinan Shala. Meanwhile, it has police has not managed to arrest the other suspect, Leçini Nezir.

Also, Kavaja Prosecution set the seizure of about 76 hectares of land in the sand area, divided into several parcels, and data show that this lands is owned by some former officials, including the former mayor.

The investigations of the Prosecutor's Office, based on materials served from Anticorruption Unit of Council of Ministers and the Supreme Audit State, witch revealed fabricated a mechanism of land structure, gave the ownership of the land to different persons.

Much of the coastal land area, divided through this abusive mechanism, already is alienated in the name of other persons, who have bought this lands with significant amounts of euros. New buyers of these properties are registered in the Registry of Real Estate.

Meanwhile, Kavaja Prosecution investigation is continuing for these plots in the coastal area, for which there are doubts that can be shared through forged documents.

During the analysis of the Prosecutor at the Court of Appeal in Durres, Attorney General, Mr. Adriatic Lala asked the prosecution of Kavaja to intensify investigations on the coastal area of the district..
