Greece - Kos island Residents Against the Construction Migrants Camp

Tension and clashes were recorded today in the island of Kos, where will be built on a site for the registration of immigrants and refugees arriving in this island. 

Early Saturday morning, residents of Pili gathered outside the camp, where on Friday began the work for the establishment of the camp (hot spot). 

About 100 people have lit fires and according to Greek media they did not allow the car to pass of the team that will build the camp, this led to clashes between residents and police.

Immediately after this,  residents have blocked with stones the road to the camp.

While military equipment operators intervened, the team were able to pas after the consultation with the residents.

Episodes of violence between police and residents were enrolled also on Friday, where as a result of the chemicals throwing by security forces three people were injured and two women lost consciousness.
