Albanian postal service unveils new stamp celebrating UN’s 70th anniversary
 Albanian postal service will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the United Nations (UN) by unveiling a new special postage stamp expected to be issued on 25 October 2015.

The square stamp depicts a new set of images, a sheet comprising nine stamps as well as the first day cover.

The new postage stamp was designed by Spiro Vllahu with an estimated cost of 180 lek. Albania post will issue a total of 105000 stamps as well as 300 first day cover.

Albanian Post has the exclusive right to produce and issue the Albanian postage stamp. Director General of the Albanian Post said that postal service is pleased to emit the new postage stamp on the 70th anniversary of the United Nations Organization, adding that postal service is ready to celebrate other international historic, cultural and sports events in the future.

UN is the world’s largest international organization established on 24 October 1945 after the World War II on the initiative on the initiative of the allied powers that won W War II:  the United States, China, England, Soviet Union and France, with the main goal to strengthen cooperation among nations, promote economic development and defend world peace. UN has 193 member states.

Albania became a full-fledged member of United of Nations on 14 December 1955. Albania’s accession to the United Nations on December 14, 1955, is a landmark event in our country’s history.
