Rama: Via Egantia will be transformed into an extraordinary touristic artery

“Via Egnatia will be transformed into an extraordinary touristic artery with a great impact on the economy and welfare of the rural area running through, Premier Rama said in a post on “Facebook “.

The Head of government noted that the Via Egnatia is being reborn; turning into a tourist attraction, while posting some photos of the tour of Venice University students and professors.

“Via Egnatia, one of the 10 ancient roads, qualified as the most important in the world, linking the West with the Orient through Durres and Constantinople, comes to light far off thorns and the dust of forgetfulness”, Rama wrote.

The Via Egnatia was a road constructed by the Romans in the 2nd century BC. Was built for economic, military and expansion purposes. It crossed the Roman provinces of Illyricum, Macedonia, and Thrace, running through territory that is now part of modern Albania, the Republic of Macedonia, Greece, and European Turkey.

Seems that Albanian Prime Minister's plane is focused on this ancient path. In a sense, we may say that this road is a simbol of Roman wealth, having in mind that after was build, the Roman expansion and wealth rose considerably. Let's hope the same for Albania, in economical and social terms.
