Haxhinasto to Businesses: "Don't keep your money in Banks, Invest in Roads
In a conference on road infrastructure today, the Minister of Transportation encouraged the businesses to not keep their money in the banks, but to invest on Albania’s roads.

Minister Haxhinasto said today that these investments would not only help the state, but would increase their own profits as well.

“We must create cooperation between business communities, the private investors, and the public sector… in order to realize important infrastructure projects. Every investment made in road infrastructure is important. There have been 4 billion dollars invested in the last 20 years.”

The minister announced a project with World Bank for the maintenance of roads, an investment of 130 million dollars.

“We will have a project with the World Bank for the next 5 years. This project will cost 130 million dollars, which will be funded by the government and the world bank, to maintain a completely different standard of roads in our country, … especially national roads.” Also present at the event, Mayor Veliaj raised the concern that getting loans to invest in infrastructure is difficult for the local government".

The Ministry of Transport says that an investment of 80 million dollars is needed for the maintenance of Albania’s roads.
