From September 1, cel phones companies in Albania are free to use the frequency spectrum 900/1800 and 2100MHz.
Authority of Electronic and Postal Communications (AKEP) has removed the restrictions on the use of these frequencies, giving operators the freedom to distribute 2G GSM, 3G UMTS, LTE and WiMAX 4G online platforms .
"Since September 1, all operators authorized by AEPC for the use of these frequencies can build their own systems based on GSM 2G UMTS-3G, LTE 4G, WiMAX technologies , to provide quality services and the highest standard, mainly broadband," is written on AKEP page.
According to AEPC, removing technological limitations enables the use of the frequency spectrum from its users on the principle of technological neutrality of services.
