Vlora Police destroyed 20 plots planted with 2252 cannabis sativa roots


Vlora police uncovered and destroyed 20 land plots planted with 2252 roots of cannabis sativa.

Official sources from local police report to ATA that narcotic plants were discovered during anti-cannabis operations in the villages of Lapardha and Roma, respectively 20 km and 35 km in southeast and east of Vlora city.

According to police, cannabis sativa plants had been cultivated in a densely forest area making it difficult to identify and capture the perpetrators. The operation of Vlora police has been conducted on a broad scale and preceded by work for detection of areas where the narcotics have been cultivated.

In the last days, police have discovered and destroyed around 7000 cannabis plants, meanwhile within a span of three months this number amounts to around 53 thousand.

So far 18 persons has been detained  over canabis cultivation.
