The works for expansion of the Vlora port have got underway on the basis of a project funded by Italian Cooperation worth EUR 15 mln.
This project is aimed at modernizing the port as a whole and increasing the capacity of travelers and goods.
On the other hand, this project is part of a broad programme of interventions by Italian Cooperation in the field of transport and infrastructure in Albania at a value of EUR 100 mln.
The master plan on Vlora port development, which transforms it into a port environment with anchorage premises and ferry processing, will be well fitted to the other project for construction of the city promenade (Lungomare).
The port’s master plan, a joint project between the Albanian and Italian govt., aims at its gradual transformation within a span of 2-3 years through a number of investments.
