Malisheva city in Macedonia hosts Albanian Folklore festival “Oda e Llapushës”


The Kosovan city of Malisheva is playing host to the folklore festival “Oda e Llapushës” featuring ensembles and singers from all Albanian territories, Kosovo, Albania, Macedonia, Presheva valley, Montenegro as well as US and other Diaspora countries. The competitive festival in the field of folklore is held in the framework of “Diaspora Days” organized by commune of Malisheva.
This festival which is held for the second time will become a tradition. There are a number of reasons why this festival should be held in Malisheva. The distinguishing feature of this region is folklore,” the mayor Ragip Begaj said in the opening remarks.
“The festival opened with the participants marching along the streets of Malisheva city. It will close Sunday evening with the awarding ceremony. The jury includes connoisseurs of folklore and Albanian tradition./atsh/
