300-year old Bridge of St. Prodhrom Undergoes Restoration

The 300-year old bridge of St. Prodhrom, which is located in Voskopoja, Southeast Albania, has recently undergone restoration. Specialists and workers of the Regional Directorate of National Culture of Korça (DRKK), after noticed some serious problems in numerous parts of this historic bridge, decided to restore it. 



DRKK announced that their maintainers started to clean up the bridge from vegetation and replacing it with missing stones and so one.

St. Prodhrom, first class cultural monument, connects Voskopoja with St. Prodhrom Monastery .
The bridge is composed of two arches made of stone and the superficial part is paved of causeway.

This bridge is constructed in the same period with the village (17 century), in which 24 Orthodox Churches are also build.

After the restoration is completed is expected that this wonderful bridge will be visited by tourists all over the world.
