The Republic of Turkey has donated 10 minibuses to the Albanian Armed Forces as part of the support that Turkish side has provided for AF modernization. The minibuses produced by the renowned company “OTOKAR”, one of Turkey’s leading design and production centres for armoured and soft-skinned 4×4 tactical wheeled vehicles, will be used for transportation of military forces to their units.

This donation is part of a considerable package of modes of transport which will be made available to the Armed Forces during the 2015.

The Ministry of Defense hosted a ceremony on the occasion of taking delivery of the minibuses with the participation of Defense Minister Mimi Kodheli, Chief of the Army’s General Staff, major general Jeronim Bazo, Turkish Ambassador in Tirana, Hidayet Bayraktar, and others.
Minister Kodheli thanked the government and Armed Forces of Turkey for their support towards our Armed Forces, particularly in training, education or equipment. She assured that the Albanian army will justify these investments in the best way it can.

For his part, Turkish ambassador Hidayet Bayraktar said that Turkey sees Albania as one of the most important countries in the Balkans and as highly influential in the region’s stability. Therefore, modernization of Albania’s AF is a key priority in relations between our two countries, according to him.
