Interfaith Council of Albania Condemns Religious Violence in MIddle East and Iraq

Interfaith Council of Albania (ICA) has reacted strongly to the war in Middle East and to ISIS criminal efforts of Iraq terrorists. Through a press release issued yesterday (10 August 2014), ICA condemns criminal acts, which has nothing to do with the basic principles of the feith. The statement calls that in the name of God to lay down the weapons and to seek peace and coexistence. 

FULL STATEMENT

Interfaith Council of Albania and its members (the Albanian Muslim Community, the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania, the Albanian Catholic Church and Bektashi World Headquarters), supported by the Evangelical  Brotherhood of Albania, are following with concern the situation in Middle East, in particular the criminal efforts of ISIS terrorists in Iraq against local Christian and even Muslims and other minorities...We strongly condemn such criminal acts that have nothing in common with the basic principles of our faiths.

We ask God who created us all to return the peace and the dignity of those areas. In the name of God t we ask weapons to be laid down, peace and coexistence.

We also appeal to international community to find appropriate solutions in order to stop migration outflows by force of Mosul residents...We want to tell everyone that it is possible to live together, helping each other and respecting each other regardless of religion, ethnicity or race.

While we express our solidarity with all those who suffer not only in Iraq, but in all hearth conflicts in Middle East and we ensure them our prayers and spiritual closeness.
