Court Decides to keep Former Director of Treasury in Prison

Former director of Treasury will remain in prison. This is what the Court decided today for Dorian Collaku, who is under accusation for dereliction of duty.

The hearing lasted only a couple of minutes, while the judge, Fida Osmani read the verdict. Collaku’s lawyer said he will oppose the verdict.

Collaku went yesterday and surrendered himself to the Police, and he is the 10th person under arrest for stealing 713 million leks in the Central Bank.

Collaku also did no comment on what happened. “I don’t know what has happened. I will talk with my lawyer being present”, he said.

Since January the 1st 2013 until March 2014, Collaku did not supervise what was happening in his department, and this created the option for busing.
