A popular scientist was found dead in his office after committing suicide following a laboratory accident, an investigative panel in the United Kingdom heard.
The insect scientist committed suicide after fearing he would lose his job.
Doctor Mark Jervis, 62, was stressed after a college student suffered acid burns on the face. Jervis, a professor at the Cardiff University, was found dead in his office.

The panel was told that Jervis slashed his wrists and neck with a knife. His wife Julia claimed that Jervis, a father of two children, was already under pressure from a heavy workload and the acid accident pushed him over the edge.
