The European Union asked Bulgaria to interrupt preparations for the construction of  "South Stream" Russian company Gazprom pipeline.
European Commission spokeswoman, Sabine Berger stated that the work on the pipeline should not continue until the Bulgarian government does not give clear answers about the EU's concerns about the monopoly of Russian company.
EU, after clashes with Russia over Ukraine, has decided to review and change its policies in the sphere of energy, in order to decrease the influence of Russia and Gazprom.
The initiation of pipeline construction was announced to begin on June, but Bulgarian media warn the push of the project./ina/
