This beautiful feast-day, wich is based on one of the most prominent traditions of the "city of culture" (Korça), invites visitors from around Korça, Albania as well as foreign tourists to celebrate and enjoy the parade of carnival groups and become part of the celebrations.
With the slogan "Korca city of festivals ", Korca Municipality now offers a complete package of festive events which brings the city a large number of visitors. Tourist season of the mounting city, culminates each year in August with the Beer Festival, but this year from August 13 to 17.
Carnival this year will bring musical parade, the joy of masks and numerous coloration of costumes. About 30 groups will be present with their fables associated with choreography and special scenarios. Besides groups from Korca, and other cities of the Albania will bring their carnival form.
Korça is part of FEEC (Federation of European Carnival). In 2013 the city of Korca represented Albania in the International Festival of Carnivals, Srumicë - Prilep in Macedonia in 2013. In this festival participated 57 groups representing various world countries such as Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Poland, Ukraine, Belgium, etc. President of the Federation of European Carnival, Van der Kroon praised the city of Korca with the grand prize - Grand Pri - for the excellent performance of this group, calling those fables as a novelty for all Europe.
